The Alzheimer's Deception and the Buried Cures

Alzheimer’s is one of the most feared and most expensive diseases there is, and also one of the most deliberately misunderstood. The official theory is a fraud, the real causes are known, and there are cheap cures that were buried. This chapter is based on the work of A Midwestern Doctor.

The amyloid-plaque fraud

For decades we were told Alzheimer’s is caused by a plaque (“amyloid”) that builds up in the brain, and all the research and all the medicines were made to attack it. But hundreds of studies trying to remove that plaque failed. Worse still: the 2006 study that founded that whole idea turned out to be fake, with manipulated images — exposed in 2022, and the paper was retracted only in 2024.

The three medicines approved to remove the plaque are a disaster: the first (aducanumab) was rejected by its own panel of experts 10 votes to 0, caused bleeding or swelling in the brain in 41% of people, and cost 56,000 dollars a year. The other two barely slow the disease a fraction, and also make the brain bleed. The truth is that the plaque is not the cause: it seems to be a defense of the body, which is why removing it does harm.

The real causes

The neurologist Dale Bredesen showed that Alzheimer’s is not one disease, but several, with different causes. The main ones are: insulin resistance (they call it “type 3 diabetes”: the same mechanism that clears excess insulin is the one that clears the plaque, so with a lot of blood sugar the plaque builds up); inflammation; toxins (especially mold from damp houses), metals and hidden infections; and poor circulation in the brain.

Here zeta potential returns. The brain cleans itself while we sleep, through a drainage system (the “glymphatic”) that opens in deep sleep. If the blood and fluids get “sludged” (zeta potential drops), that drainage clogs and the garbage — including the plaque — stays inside. Add to this aluminum (which makes proteins stick together) and statins, because lowering cholesterol harms the brain.

What does work

Fix your metabolism: cut sugar, eat low in carbohydrates and good fat. Coconut oil and MCT oils give ketone bodies that feed the brain without sugar; in one study, 80% of patients stayed the same or improved in 6 months — better than the plaque medicines and at a fraction of the price.

Sleep well: deep sleep is when the brain cleans itself (see the chapter on sleep). Move: between 40% and 45% of cases could be avoided with exercise alone, which moves the body’s fluids. Get sun and keep the mind active. And raise your zeta potential with everything in the healing-with-energy chapter.

DMSO is perhaps the most unjustly buried cure. It improves brain circulation, lowers inflammation and revives dormant cells. In animal studies it protected memory, and in 18 Alzheimer’s patients there were great improvements at 3 and 6 months in memory and orientation. There are cases of people who had gone more than a year without speaking and spoke again after two weeks of oral DMSO (see the DMSO chapter). Another cheap help is methylene blue with vitamin C.

And avoid what harms the brain: statins, blood-pressure pills, the pills that block stomach acid, antidepressants, sleeping pills and aluminum. Older people who keep a clear mind are usually the ones who took almost no medicines in their lives. Be careful too with general anesthesia: ask them to use ketamine or midazolam instead of inhaled anesthetics.
