Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Your Health
Artificial intelligence (AI) is already changing many fields, and health is one of them. Used well, AI can be a great ally: it helps you cut through so much misinformation, find real evidence, and make decisions about your health without depending on someone else making them for you. Here I share some new, free and very useful tools. And this is only the beginning: many more are coming, including our own, from Global Genius Trust.
Evipedia.ai: an encyclopedia of evidence
The problem with health and longevity is that there is a huge amount of information — scattered, fast-changing, and often pure advertising disguised as science. Evipedia.ai was born to solve that: it is a free online encyclopedia with more than 500 evidence reviews on all kinds of interventions — supplements, plants, rejuvenation therapies, lifestyle habits and more. Each topic has a quick reference and an in-depth review, is updated every 4 to 6 weeks, and shows transparently what it is based on. It is an excellent place to check whether something you are recommended really works.
AI4L: an AI that does not make things up
Behind Evipedia there is a tool called AI4L (“AI for practical longevity”), from the organization Forever Healthy; it is open source and free (it is on GitHub). What is interesting is how it keeps the AI from “hallucinating,” that is, from inventing data. Instead of asking it to “write a review,” it hands it a list of more than 400 quality-control checkpoints — like the one you would give a human auditor — and asks it to write a review capable of passing that audit. Then a different, independent AI does the audit, verifying each citation against the real sources. The process repeats until the review passes 100% of the checks. That is how you get evidence summaries that are reliable and free of invented facts.
TrialAtlas.ai: find clinical trials in seconds
For someone facing a serious illness, clinical trials are often the door to tomorrow’s treatments. But searching for them in the government databases is a mess that can take hours. TrialAtlas.ai, from the company BioViva (of Liz Parrish), solves it with AI: you just type three things — your age, your location and your illness — and the tool searches ClinicalTrials.gov and shows you the studies that might help you, with the requirements, the locations, and even the researchers’ contact details so you can ask directly. It is free, and it works for cancer, rare diseases, neurological problems, metabolic problems, longevity and much more.
How to make the most of these tools
Use them as a compass, not as a boss. AI helps you find and organize information, but the final decision is yours, listening also to your body (as explained in the chapter on how to make decisions). Always verify, and remember that an AI is only as good as the information it was trained on: ordinary AI often repeats the same deceptions of the system. That is why the tools built to be transparent and based on real evidence, like the ones in this chapter, are so valuable.
What is coming
This is only beginning. Every year there will be more and better AI for health, cheaper and within everyone’s reach. We, at Global Genius Trust, are also working on ours, meant to help you care for your health with this same philosophy: truth, evidence, and each person’s freedom over their own body.
