Nature's Gold Mix (Barley Gold)

One of the best concentrated foods I know is Barley Gold, now part of a mix called Nature's Gold Mix. In this chapter I explain what it is, how it is made, why it is so special, and what people who use it report.

What it is

Barley Gold is a living, raw superfood made from sprouted (germinated) barley. It was invented by an agronomist named Ken Campbell. In short, it is organic barley that is sprouted and then ground immediately, ending up like a moist, living flour, not an ordinary dry flour. The barley is grown organically, formerly in Canada and now also in Colombia. Nature’s Gold Mix is the presentation that brings together Breakthru’s main products in a single bag: Barley Gold, Lignan Gold and others, for an initial supply of about three to four months.

How it is made: the secret is germination

The secret of Barley Gold is germination. When a grain sprouts, it "wakes up" and releases all its nutrients in a form the body uses far better. In this process, the grains are exposed to certain frequencies that make them sprout in just one to three minutes, and are ground right away, so the product stays moist and living. Although moist, it keeps at least three years without spoiling or losing nutrients. All this is part of what Breakthru calls its G.E.M. process (germination, stabilization and complete milling).

Why it is so special

Iron is absorbed far better. With germination, the absorption of iron rises from 5% to 92%. That is, the body uses almost all of the iron, instead of only a small part.
